If you know what you need for material, there are suppliers that will cut it to length for you, and depending on the volume of material you are ordering, they can arrange to deliver the material to you. If you run a business where you use a lot of steel for the product you produce, you can even set up recurring deliveries so that you are constantly being resupplied. This only works if you are using the same material in the same configuration all the time. If you need something special, you will have to call your supplier and have them add it to your shipment.

Smaller Orders

Most of the suppliers that work with businesses are also open to working with the individual fabricator, but you may have to go and pick up the steel you need. If you need long lengths of material, you will have to have a truck or a trailer to haul it on, but have it cut to the smallest sections you can so it will be easier to handle and ready to use when you get it in the shop. If you can avoid cutting it too many times, you will save yourself a lot of time and a lot of work in the end.
